Development of the Twinning methodology and framework (WP1)
WP1 foresees the development of the specific methodology to be followed for strengthening the R&I capabilities of UCY in the defined field. It constitutes the timeframe for initiating the collaboration bond between the 3 partners, as a pre-cursor to the actual implementation WPs.Thus, the first 3 months of TwinPV will be used to connect physically all teams (on site) and to keep abreast with the progress of WP1 tasks until the finalization of the twinning framework. For this purpose, after the Kick-off meeting (M1), a first coordination visit to AIT and DTU facilities in M2 and M3, respectively, will be organized.
Building R&I capacity through targeted case studies (WP2)
This WP entails the development of the targeted case studies or subtopics on which the CSA will be based on. The objective will be achieved through the execution of these case studies which will aim to cover important scientific aspects of research in PV and integration in smart grids including enabling technologies (including ICT), power system design & operation (including micro-grids, island operation, and reliability), advanced & distributed control (including demand side management and forecasting), market integration etc. The CSA activities and means will include: Human exchanges, training by experts in the field, infrastructure sharing, PhD summer schools, subject-specific workshops, webinars, joint R&D and PhD initiatives.
There will be 4 international networking initiatives which will target networking professional platforms within international workshops/conferences e.g. Smart Grids Week, Smart Grids technology platform assembly, EUPVSEC, EUSEW. These events offer the opportunity for networking with key research players in the field as well as industry and the working groups of international technical committees. The international events are foreseen to take place in M17, M29, M33, and M35.
Assessment of effectiveness of CSA activities (WP4)
This WP is critical for the project as it evaluates the effectiveness of the CSA activities and essentially the achieved impact targeted. It encompasses three tasks: Task 4.1. Annual progress review in terms of yearly output (AIT). Task 4.2. Revised measures proposed for improving action effectiveness (UCY) The outcome of the reviews will be the generation of a list of revised measures for improving the CSA action effectiveness during TwinPV. Task 4.3. End-of-project lessons learnt and final recommendations (DTU) As a result of the final audit of the scientific and innovation outputs of the PVlab (UCY), there will be a consolidation of end-of-project lessons itions.
Sustainability framework (WP5)
The objective of the work package is to support a sustainable and continued R&I capacity building at UCY, through sustainable organisational framework, procedures, networks, collaborations, scientific activities, innovation etc. It also aims to support a sustainable collaboration between its mentors, AIT and DTU.
Dissemination, Exploitation, Communication (WP6)
This work package concerns the way the outcomes of this project will be dealt with in order to effectively present the benefits and the innovative work that will be carried out in this project. It will ensure that the work done is published in appropriate conferences or journals motivating and informing others in the field. It will also enhance the transfer of knowledge between the consortium members as results will be disseminated through it, giving new insight. A framework for internal and external communication activities is also foreseen in this WP. Making the disseminated data and background available will provide valuable information to people working in the field as well as for networking purposes.
Project Management and Progress Monitoring (WP7)
The overall aim is to ensure an efficient and smooth running, from the very beginning, of the project and to coordinate and overlook all activities and tasks, optimizing processes, performing cost-analysis and managing the Consortium in order to work in full alignment in pursuing effectively the project goals.
